EcoMobility 2013 Congress Program Overview

The main focus of the congress was on transforming our cities and spaces to encourage healthy living and improved liveability, and to focus on people rather than on automobiles.

The congress contained, in addition to the informative plenaries, sessions that are focused on specific topics in urban transportation. The discussions from these sessions yielded practical and pragmatic solutions that cities can implement.

  • Training activities for decision makers and city officials increased their awareness of EcoMobility and allowed them to make informed decisions in transforming their cities.
  • High-level participants at the congress had focused discussions with their peers to foster knowledge and experience sharing.

Congress detailed Session Descriptions

Congress sessions explored various innovative themes in EcoMobility and featured international speakers and experts.

Congress themes included regenerating old towns through EcoMobility; people-friendly public spaces; EcoMobility and innovation; institutional and financial solutions; intermodality; livable and happy communities; and low carbon cities.

Relating to the theme, the sessions concentrated on various aspects of EcoMobility such as: Intermodality, Regeneration of old towns through EcoMobility, Liveable Communities through EcoMobility, EcoMobility and Health, Financial instruments to realise EcoMobility, Innovation and EcoMobility, EcoMobility and Economy.
